It connects the Gambetta and Porte des Lilas stations in the 20th arrondissement of Paris (in the east of the city). With a length of and only four stations, the line is the shortest in the network. It is also the least used line, with just over 1.5 million passengers in 2003. The line was constructed during the 1910s as an extension to line 3, but the two were disconnected in 1971 and from then on Line 3 bis was operated separately. At the same time line 3 was extended to Gallieni. As of 2011, six MF 67 trains, each composed of three cars, run on the line.
